JULY - AUGUST 1945

Rather dull at first 29 Sun - 9th but brighter later on brighter later on. Dick ill in bed with asthma. Janet & I went with Daddy to chapel in morning. Read in afternoon and talked to Dick all the evening. [Puss Pass]came to see us.

30 Mon Very hot day. Janet & I went with Dick & Dad to the town in morning. Had a lovely time in a natural history museum & art gallery. Played tennis with Dick & two of his friends in afternoon. In evening went in [] car to [Clay] to teach []

31 Tues -- Gun and Game Licences expire (Moon's last quarter 10.30 p.m.) Lovely day. Set off early in the morning leaving [] Travelled to Liverpool by way of Llangollin - Wales and went through a mountain - glorious. Went through mossy tunnel & in evening crossed []

Dull at first but lovely later on. 1 Aug. Wed - Lammas Scottish Quarter Day Did a bit of shopping in morning in shops near Nancy's. Went to Harrison Drive in afternoon and went swimming in pool. Had tea there and then went along the sea front to New Bridge.

AUGUST 8th Month 1945 12 Sun - 11th after Trinity Lovely day Went to S. School in morning. and taught primary. Wrote to Brother John in afternoon. A[] came over. Went to [] in evening [] George & []to supper Uncle Charlie went home & Auntie St

13 Mon - Grouse Shooting begins Warm dry day Washed up and then went picked plums with Gordon. Picked all morning did dinner wash up and picked all the afternoon. Bert & Bill came & picked in the evening I sold plums in the [][] Lots of L & x 10 G.

Misting & wet in morning but fine in afternoon 14 Tues - Old Lammas Day Gordon went to Lakes in morning I sold plums all day long in the green shed. Auntie Kitty came in the afternoon and Uncle Will fetched her in the evening Judy came to supper.

WORLD PEACE JAPAN SR 15 Wed 2 days holiday. Went to Sutton in morning and fetched groceries. Kept shop in afternoon and read a book. Judy took Bible class in evening. I enjoyed it very much. Geo Phang , T[]

November 11th Month 1945

4 Sun – 23rd after Trinity New Moon 11.11 p.m. Quite a nice day. Went to S. School in morning & [?] primary. Wrote nearly all of an essay on [] in afternoon. Went to chapel [?] evening. [?]. She [?] Desmond & Eric came to supper.

5 Mon [?]nasty day. Did not go to school as did not feel well. Had a practice in morning. Desmond & Eric came in. Did some sewing in afternoon & [?] in evening. [?]

6 Tues Lovely day. Went to school. Had a very nice French lesson. Did a lot of notes in History. Didn't get much done in art in afternoon. Felt very [hilarious?] in evening. Went for walk with Eric and [Ted?] [?] practice. Bunty, [?] Judy were in.

7 Wed Lovely day. Had a letter from Grandma. Did notes in biology and in history. Came home in afternoon. did homework, Eric & Desmond came in. Did not go to Bible Class. did H.W. George [?] took class. Desmond [?]

NOVEMBER 11th Month 1945

18 Sun–25th after Trinity Very cold day, went to S. school in morning and [?] primary. Wrote an essay on [?] in [?]. Grandma came to tea. [?] came back from [?]. Ted F/o & Eric came with us. Bunty, Desmond, [?] & Ted came to supper.

19 Mon–Full Moon 3.13p.m. Further cold day. Did mostly n[?] in biology. Copied [?] [?] Peggy came for a [?]. Eric, Desmond, & Judy came in [?] a practise.

20 Tues Lesson in morning [?] but didn't enjoy art much. [?] Did H.W. most of the evening. Played a good joke on Eric & Desmond [had?] a practise.

Colin Woo's birthday 21 Wed Quite a nice day. I had 2 lessons of biology and I had a singing rehearsal. I didn't [?] many notes in history. Came home in afternoon. Did HW. Eric, Desmond, Bunty, Ted F/o Padre, Leslie & [?]

1945 31 Days DECEMBER

Quite a nice day. 27 Th-- St. John the Evangelist Got up at 9 o' clock. Did veges & had a long practise. Auntie Marion & Tom came up. [Unclear] after dinner did knitting & [unclear] went to B. Class. Gilbert Cotton, [] Judy, Doreen, Ted F/O &Padre came.

28 Fri -- Holy Innocents Very wet windy day. Had a letter from Gordon. Cleaned my bedroom in morning. Judy & Desmond came in dinner time. Did some holiday work and wrote 2 christmas thank you letters. Daddy iced cake in evening. Judy came & did knitting.

29 Sat Cold damp day. Helped Mummy all the morning. Got changed in afternoon and we all went to Auntie Connies for tea and supper. The Clark's & A. Marron Ian & Grandma were there and we played lots of games and came home at midnight

OCTOBER 1943

Went to Sunday School in morning and taught Primary. Poured with rain in the morning.Went to Sunday School in afternoon. finished homework in evening.

Thick fog in morning had two free lessons. but still had a lot of homework.

Made lentil soup in cookery 2d. Played about in Geography. Thick fog. Had fire in lounge but no one came in so had a very dull time.

Thick fog again. Had quite a lot of homework, but George came in and so left most to do in free lesson. He is going on a Destroyer for experience and then on lanes path finding.

George's birthday met him in the morning with a bad of apples, and he had forgotten it was his birthday. He came in the evening and we had a ripping time It was all over the chestnuts and an orange

Not quite so foggy. Broke up for half term. George came for tea but could not stay as he had to go to Plymouth Peggy, Olive and SL. Hump came in evening and we played games.

Peggy and I went to Little port with Daddy and Saw Tann's dogs Brian came in afternoon and was a nuisince. Played games in evening.

APRIL 2 1933 Nice day home all day Marion Lamp + Mary Holey up this PM. Havent felt good all day 11 to bed

1934 Nice day lots of robins They started // today Mr Ford over this eve 10 15 to bed

1935 Factory closed for afternoon for Mildred's funeral. Marion Alice Lena and I were honorary Bearers I was glad when over real cold today

1936 rained all day Mrs Archer Nash died also Lenard Barhet. He was kicked by a horse

1937 bending very tiresome
