Spent yesterday at Cousin Berties.
They also have a lovely home—
but new and not nearly so
tastefully landscaped—but of course
much more grounds. They have
a lovely rock garden and
pool—the latter quite formal
with a fountain. They also
have a vegetable garden and
tennis court.

In the afternoon
Bertie took me and a young
cousin of his Georehart Geuitennam
a German(!) and are awfully nice chap to an interesting
place for tea. An old home of a duelier
made over into a Hotel—but the
original old furniture, panelling
and painted ceiling. We ate in
the grounds—embankments of
rodedendrons [sic: rhododendrons] around us—a
perfect forest about 8 or ten feet high or
more—all in bloom!
