This 24 hours Commences with Strong breezes
and Squals from the W N W Steering East
at 1 O Clock P. M took in the Studing Sails
and Shifted them on the other Side While
Setting the Lower Studing Sails Carried away
the Top mast Studing Sail Boom took in the
Sails and Clewed up the main Royal midle
part took took in the Fore Top Galient Sail
Latter part wind from W S W to W N W with
a plenty of Snow and Hail Squals Saw nothing
Employd in Turning Belay Pins and other job
of Ships duty Saw nothing Lat 55. 52 S Lg 91. 38 W

Tuesday the 6 Feb 1849

This 24 hours Commences with fresh breezes and
Snow Squals from the Westward Steering E with
all Sail Set midle and Latter part the Same
Employd in making a new main Royal Saw nothing
So Ends this 24 hours Lat 56. 42 S Lng 87. 32 3/4 West

Wednesday the 7 Feb 1849

This 24 hours Commences with fine breezes and
Squals from the W S W Ship under all Sail Steering
E at 5 O Clock P. M the wind Shifted to the
Southward took in the Studing Sails and Fore Top
Galient Sail Set the main Sail midle part Squaly
took in the main Top Galient Sail and double
reefed the Fore Top Sail Latter part turned one
reef out of the Fore Top Sail Set the Jib and
main Top Galient Sail Employd in making a
main Royal and ripping up the old one Saw
nothing So Ends this 24 hours Lat 57. 12 S Lg W

This 24 hours Commences with fresh breezes
from the S by E Steering E by N under a main
Top Galient Sail and Single reefed Fore Top Sail
Midle part Set all Sail with light breezes and Calms
Latter part light breezes from the N Set hte Studing
Sails Employd in mending the Spanker and other
Jobs of Ships duty Saw nothing So Ends this
24 hours Lat 57. 17 S Long West
