Loward [LOWERED] and struk [STRUCK] too [TWO]. Killed them and took them alongside and cut them in and started the tryworks. Remarks on bord [BOARD] Monday July 7th 1834 The first part of thes[E] 24 hours we have fresh winds and pleasant. At 6 PM took in sail and clost reeft [CLOSE REEFED] the main top sail. Saw a grate [GREAT] number of finbacks. Imployed [EMPLOYED] in boiling. Nothing more worth of remark. Latitude by obs vation [OBSERVATION] 28°=20 North Longitude by Cronometor [CHRONOMETER] 155°=06 East

Remarks on board Tuesday July 8th 183 [1834] Throught [THROUGH] thes[E] 24 hours we have a gale of wind from the NE. Imployed [EMPLOYED] in trying. At 12 AM finished boiling. At 1 PM set clost reeft [CLOSE REEFED] topsails. Steering NW by W. At 6 PM took in sail and and wore ship heading ESE. Nothing more worth of remark.
