Description: Incomplete account (without cover) kept aboard the whaling ship Thorn, on a voyage from Sag Harbor, N.Y. to the Brazil Banks (in the South Atlantic), 1825-1826 (entries in journal are from 14 November 1825 - 17 April 1826). Maltby Sayre, left for the Brazil Banks out of Sag Harbor sometime in 1824, returning 6 June 1825_first entry of this partial journal is 14 November 1825 (confirmed in Lund); a voyage of same ship, commanded once again by Capt. George Howell, is listed in Starbuck's work as embarking 22 July 1826, 3 months after last entry in this partial journal of 19 November 1825.
