no great plenty of whales. Saw
2 ships running to the south[??].

Pleasant weather. Saw whales.
Killed one took him along side
and cut him in. So ends the day.

Spoke the ship Union 60 bls [barrels?]
spermacity [spermaceti] and lowered for nets.
No succes [success]. So ends the day.
