short sail. Employed in boiling & stowing
down. Saw 1 whale but to rough to lore.
First part [by?] to the Eward latter part to
the Wward. So goes all well. Lat obs
39:50 Long about 4:00

Sunday the 8th

All this day, the wind bloes a gale from the
Sth Wward by [by?] under short sail. Saw
a number of whales round about W Sth W
but to rough to lore. All hand employed
in boiling & scraping bone. So passed the
day. Lat obs. 37:47 Long 4:25

Monday, the 9th

The wind blows a gale from the Nward
throughout the day weather thick and
rainy. Ship under short sail standing
to the Wward. Saw one whale but to
rough to chase. All hands employed in
stowing down & boiling. So remains.
Lat obs 37:25 Long 4:20

Tuesday the 10th
Strong winds & thick fog through out
the day by [&by?] under short sail. Nothing
presents worth remarks. Employed in
boiling. So ends all well. Lat obs
38:00 Long about 4:00.
