The day began with light airs and
clear weather. Steering Sth. Ship
under all sail. All hands employed
bending a fore and mizzen top
sails. Middle wind and weather
the same. Latter light airs from
the Sth W. Steered by the wind
with our larboard tacks on board.
Saw nothing worth note. So remains.
Lat obsd 30:05 Long 29:10

61 Thursday the 25th
Began with light baffling
airs. Ship under all sail. Steer
by the wind different courses.
All hand [s] employed mending
a gib [jib] and sorting our potatoes.
Middle the wind and weather the
same. Latter part calm and a great
swell from the Sth W. Saw
a number of bank birds starboard.
Employed fitting a new main
top sail. So goes. Lat obsd 30:45

62 Friday the 26th
Began with calm weather and
a great swell from the Sth W.
Middle and latter part a light
breeze at N. Ship under all
sail. Steering Sth by W per
compass. Saw several hump backs.
Hand [s] employed mending a top
sail. So remains. Lat obsd
