Description: Pp.'s 1-233: fairly complete account kept aboard the whaling bark Timor, on a voyage from Sag Harbor, N.Y. to the South Atlantic, 12 October 1849 - 11 October 1852, commanded by Edward Mulford Baker, Captain (pages missing from beginning of voyage, 12 October 1849 to 26 November 1849, last 3 days of voyage missing, last entry 8 October 1852). Includes Ballad "Burning of Schenectady," by Walter Wilie, relating horrors of French and Indian War, written on pp.'s 54-56; last pages, pp. 233-240, contain: poetry; separation notice of Erastus Barnes and Rebecca Conklin (by mutual consent), November 5, 1852, with signatures of said parties and other family members, with expressed desire for separation to be published in unnamed newspaper; poem "On Opening a House of Worship;" final page contains account of crew violence and corresponding punishment onboard the bark Timor.
