S.B Peirson Master Outward Bound

Monday September 15, 1845 Commenced with high wind midel and latter the same we are heading S W by Westerly the watch to [-] work in the rigging so ends this day Lat 00 34 South Tuesday 16th Long 20 17 W Commences with light wind midel and latter the same steering S.S.W this day commences our first [-] of old Neptune this evening he boarded us as it is costimary and the crew was quit mery when the captain come and told them to stop their noise when it was done in a shout the old man came again and told them to stop their nois and one of the men and him had some words and he then struck him in his face draged him off and chocked him he than sent him below in the morning ce colled him up on deck again and put him in the rigging where he is now so ends this day

Wednesday 17th Commences with light wind SE treads midel and latter the same a ship pased us to the windward of us so ends Lat 3,45 S Long 2333 W Thursday 18th Commences with light wind from the S E steering S W by S. nothing in sight the watch employed in the rigging so ends this day Lat 5.42 S Long 24 34 W
