First part thick fog and calm. Mid part cleared up.
saw 7 sails. one of them boiling. the Diomede Islands
in sight bearing N. Walrus in every direction. lowered
the Larboard boat and chased. did not get any. light
airs from WSW and plesant. Latter part much the
same. so ends this day in
Latt 64"46" N Long 168"35 W.

Saturday July 16th

First part light breeze from Southward and plesant. steering NW.
passed through between the Diomede Islands and Cape
East. 4 sails in sight. Mid part good breeze from SE.
all sail set. steering N. Latter part light breeze from
ENE and plesant. all sail. by the wind heading N. three sails
in sight steering the same. the Sun set 20 minits bef 12
rose 10 minits Bf 12. out of sight 10 minits. so ends in
Latt 66"40 N Long 168"43 W.

Sunday July 17th

First and mid part good breeze from NE and plesant.
all sail set. by the wind heading NNW. 3 sails in sight steering
the same. at 4 PM wind hauled to NNW. tacked ship heading
NE. Latter part light breeze from N by W and thick
fog. all sail set. by the wind heading NE by E. saw
two Whales but it was so thick could not tell what kind.
so ends this day in
Latt 68"07 N Long 168"02.

Monday July 18th

First part light airs from E [&?] S and plesant. several sails in
sight. employed breaking out for water. Mid part wind and weather much
the same. cape Lisbern in sight bearing N. heavy Ice ahead. tacked
ship heading SW. wind SSE. 6 sails in sight. Latter part
spoke and gamed with the B Goslen several sails
in sight. so ends.
