Sunday Dec [DECEMBER] 18th 1864
Begins with light airs from NW. Mid part all hands went on board the Antelope to the Theatre. Latter part Capt [CAPTAIN] purchased some deer skins of [OFF] the natives and set the fair sex to work makeing [MAKING] native shoes for the crew. They have fitted out the Capt [CAPTAIN] and Mr Bennett. At that rate they will be about two week[S] fitting out the entire ship's crew. Nothing else of importance occured [OCCURRED]. Thermometer standing at 36 below.
Monday Dec [DECEMBER] 19th
Begins with a moderate winds [WIND] from W. Latter part wind and weather much the same. Capt [CAPTAIN] presented me with a pair of native stockins [STOCKINGS] and comeings [COMINGS] and so ends. Thermometer standing at 36 below.
Tuesday Dec [DECEMBER] 20th
Begins with moderate winds from WNW. Native shoes and stockings comeing [COMING] in slowly. Latter part wind and weather the same. Thermometer standing at 39 below.
Wednesday Dec [DECEMBER] 21st
Begins with fine pleasant weather and wind from NW. In the evening all hands on board the Antelope to a minstral [MINSTREL] performance. Latter part went ashore after two loads of ice. Thermometer standing at 30 below.
Thursday Dec [DECEMBER] 22nd
Begins with light airs from W. After dinner went after another load of ice. Latter part wind NW. Went ashore after more ice. Thermometer standing at 30 below.
