Friday Feb [FEBRUARY] 3rd 1865

Begins with a strong gale from SE. 4 PM Capt [CAPTAIN] White Capt [CAPTAIN] Chapell and Capt [CAPTAIN] Jeffrey returned from Marble Island. They report 20 cases of scury amongst the Marble Island fleet. They also report a theatre established there and brotherly love and unity reighning [REIGNING] through the fleet. Latter part strong gale from SSE. Thermometer standing at zero.

Saturday Feb [FEBRUARY] 4th

Begins with strong winds from SSE. In the evening went to the Theatre but was to [TOO] late to get a seat so I came home again. Latter part moderate winds from NW and pleasant weather. Thermometer standing at 30 below.

Sunday Feb [FEBRUARY] 5th

Begins with a strong breeze from NW. Mid part went on board the Antelope to a mask ball. Latter part light airs from NNW. I went and took a walk over to Depot Island distant about 2 1/2 miles. Thermometer 30 below.

Monday Feb [FEBRUARY] 6th
Begins with light airs from NNW and very pleasant weather. Latter part strong winds from NNE accompined [ACCOMPANIED] with fine snow. Thermometer standing at 14 below.

Tuesday Feb [FEBRUARY] 7th

Begins with moderate winds from NNE accompined [ACCOMPANIED] with snow. At 6 o[']clock the natives returned from the floe with a walrus. Mid part Capts [CAPTAINS] officers and boatsteerers of the whole fleet had a very pleasant time on board the Antelope a dancing untill [UNTIL] about 11 o[']clock when they broke up and returned to their respective ships. Latter part strong breeze and clear weather from NNE. Thermometer standing at 34 below.
