Sunday Sept 7th All of these 24 hours light airs and calm. Head South Easterly. So ends the day. Latt [LATITUDE] by Acct [ACCOUNT 43°=00" Long [LONGITUDE] by Acct [ACCOUNT] 183° 30" East

Monday Sept 8th First part calm. Middle part a light but freshening breeze from the SE. Steer by the wind E by N with much rain. Latt [LATITUDE] by Acct [ACCOUNT 43°=10" N Long [LONGITUDE] by Acct [ACCOUNT] 186°=20" West longitude

Monday Sept 8th Fore part we have strong gales from the SE. Steer by the wind E. Northerly. Middle part blows a heavy gale and rain. Hove the ship too [TO] under a close reef. At 7 AM made sail with the wind South but fresh. Latt [LATITUDE] by Acct [ACCOUNT 43 55 N Long [LONGITUDE] by Acct [ACCOUNT] 171°=50" West

Tuesday Sept 9th Comes in with strong gales from the Southward. Steer ENE. Middle blowing on to a heavy gale. Close reefed the main top sail and take in the waist boat. 8 AM moderating and wind hauling to the SSW. Make sail and steer SE by E. So ends the day etc. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 42=50 N Long [LONGITUDE] by Chro [CHRONOMETER] 171°=51" West

Wednesday Sept 10th This 24 hours we have fine breezes from the S & W. Steer SE. Chad [CHASED] blackfish but could not catch them. So ends the day. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 41°=29" N Long [LONGITUDE] by Chro. [CHRONOMETER] 170°=25" West
