Saturday Nov 27th 1852 Hove our Anchors and made sail from Gardiners Bay andstood to sea with the wind from the W. blosing a heavy breeze at 6 oclock blowing harder with a heavy sea we took in the fore top sail and close reefed the main top sail and hove too so ends this.

Sunday " 28th 1852 Made sail in the morning with a good breeze steering S.E. by [9] all hands employed in ship duty so ends this twenty four hours..

Monday " 29th 1852 First part this twenty four hours light winds latter part strong breeze from the S. steering E.S.E., all hands employed in breaking out the ship and getting things in order. so ends

Tuesday " 30th 1852 First part this twenty four hours light winds latter part much the same. hands employed in breaking out the [Ru] // four hours fresh wind in order. so en // East made sail steering

Friday Dec 17th 1852 .. First part this twenty four hours light winds and squally with heavy rain. Hauled down the flying jib and [clewed?] down the fore and main top [gt?] sails. Hauled up the mainsail and spanker. The wind from the south west steering South South East. Latter part fresh breeze from the West steering South. Saw a sail she came very near but did not speak. Showed her colors proved to be a Frenchman. Hands employed in ship duty. Latt by obs 2o,3,,19m Long 36o,,46m. so ends

Saturday Dec 18th 1852 First part this twenty four hours fresh winds from from the South West some squally. Hauled down the flying jib [clowed?] up the fore and main top gt sails took in the gaft top sail hauled up the spanker and mainsail at half past four. Made sail and squared the yards some. The wind hauled more to the west. Latter part much the same the wind hauled round to North steering South. Hands employed in ship duty so ends. Saw a sail. So ends Latt by obs 2o,0,,08m Long 3o4,,55m

Sunday Dec 19th 1852 First part this twenty four hours very fresh winds from the North East steering South. Latter part much the same. Took in the flying jib gaft top sail and fore topmast steering sail. Steering South [1/2?] East Hands employed in reading and sleeping. So ends Latt by obs 17o ,,43m Long 34o,,18m West

Monday Dec 20th 1852 First part this twenty four hours strong winds from the East steering South by East. Saw two [ships?] but did not speak them. Latter part much the same. Took in the flying jib gaft topsail at 6 P.M. called all hands and first one reef in the foretop sail and one in main top sail. Hands employed inship duty. So ends this twenty four hours. Latt by obs 15o,,00m N. Long 33o,,06m W
