Page 159: "Distances sailed by ship Nathaniel P. Tallmadge during the voyage," with localities listed (total of 58,290 miles sailed); pp.'s 161-164: "An account of some of the most remarkable events and transactions on board ship..." Following inscribed on page 2: William McKneels log book; "in future times when this book you see, think of the time you sailed with me"_G.S. Miller (George? possibly kept all or part of journal, as entry on page 161-162, author writes "..as it would be safe to let me set my foot on old Montauk but it is of no use so cheer up George and look forward to the time when your heart may be made glad with the sight of your native land again"_cataloger's note); "Whaling voyage around the world sailing eastward_Hedges, Capt." In possession of Miller family for many years; includes inscription "Rinkey J. Miller, Springs" on one of blank pages after whaling account.
