Roll: Enlisted and mustered into Service and died September 25, 1862 of Endocarditis Contracted in the summer &c.

Marriage the Verified certificate of the Justice and witnesses present

State of New York County of Wayne ss. - Personally appeared before me Syman Syman Clerk of the County Court of said county which is a court of record, Charles Angle and Amanda Hand persons wheom (sp) I certify to be respectable, and who reside in the town of Rose Wayne Co., N.Y - and who by me being duly sworn to declare and testify as follows. We know that there is no town or Church Record of the Marriage of George W. Angle and Mary S. Angle that we were both well acquainted with and resided near the said George W. and Mary S. Angle whose maiden name was Mary S. Pomroy. That we come present at their marriage and say them married by George P. York a Justice of the Peace _ whoom (sp) we know_ that he remains a Justice of the Peace now in the town of Huron N.Y._ We have no interest direct or indirect in the prosecution of this claim We know the signature of George P. York and know that the Marriage Certificate here with appended, of George W. Angle and Mary S. Pomeroy then of the Town of Huron N.Y. was signed by him and is the original genuine Certificate of their marriage. DECLARATION FOR OBTAINING A WIDOW'S ARMY PENSION. State of New York County of Wayne ss: On this 2d day of February A. D. 1863 personally appeared before me (1) Lyman Lyon Clerk of the County Court of said county, (2) Mary S. Angle a resident of Rose in the County of Wayne and State of New York aged 18 years, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth, on her oath, make the following Declaration, in order to obtain the benefit of the provisions made by Act of Congress, approved July 14, 1862. That she is the widow of (3) George W. Angle who was a (4) private soldier in Company (5) D commanded by Capt. Van Ness in the (6) 90th Regiment of (7) New York Volls in the War of 1861, and who (8) died at Tortugus Island, F.a. Sept. 25. 1862 of inflamation on the bowels - while in the service of the U.S. she further declares that she was married to the said (3) George W. Angle on the Third day of June A. D., 1860; that he husband, the aforementioned (3) George W Angle died on the day aforesaid, and that she has remained a widow ever since that period (9) as will more fully appear by reference to the proof hereto annexed. That she had born to her of said soldier one child, aged and named, and who reside as follows: Mary Elizabeth born March 25th 1862 which lives with its mother and in her care at Rose Wayne Co, NY and is wholly dependent on her for support. That she has no other child surviving She hereby appoints Wm. Van Marter Attorney to prosecute this her claim for Pension, with full power of substitution. She also declares that she has not in any manner been angaged in, or aided or abetted the Rebellion in the United States; that her Post Office address is (10) Rose Wayne Co. N.Y. Angle Also, personally appeared (11) Charles Angle and (11) Amanda Hand residents of Rose N.Y. persona whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who, being by me duly sworn, say that they were present and saw (2) Mary S. Angle sign her name to the foregoing Declaration; that applicant is now a widow, and has remained a widow since the detah of her said husband; and they further swear that they have every reason to believe, from the appearance of the applicant and their acquaintance with her, that she is the identical person she represents herself to be, and that they have no interest in the prosecution of this claim. 1st Witness' Signature. D. 1863 and I certify that -- credible, and that I have no interest, direct or indirect, in the prosecution of this claim. " In every case you must sond proof of marriage, either by certitied copy of Marriage Record, it there is one, or if none, you must prove by 2 witnesses that there is no Town or Church Record to be found, and then you must send atiidavit of the Minister or Magistrate who married you. If he is dead, or removed so that you cannot find him, prove his death or removal by & witnesses, and then, and not till then will atlidavits of others who were at the marriage be received. if there be no lown or Church Record, and Minister or Magistrate be dead, and all the witnesses be dead, or their residence unknown, then prove such facts, and cohabitation can theu be proved. If parties were married in Europe, and record can't be obtained, then send sworn copy of record of baptism of children, or, send their passport papers, or such other papers as show they have been treated as Insband and wife. Always prove, by copy of your Family Record, duly sworn to by 2 witnesses, the names, and ages, and residence of your children; if no such Record, prove it by & witnesses who remember the time or near the time, and Jact of their birth. If you cannot prove nil as above, execute the declaration, and write me telling me what you can prove. You must swear to this Declaration before some Judge of a Court, or Clerk of such Court. Any Judge of a Court having a seal will answer. Judge of Probate Court, Justice of a Criminal Court, " Side Judge," or Justice of Bessions will answer.
