I am 114|_a pensioner by Cert. No. 1007048 as Private Co. I 93 and Co. I 81 115|_U.S.C.Vol.Inf. I enlisted at New Iberia, La., Oct. 20, 1863, and 116|_was discharged in New Orleans Nov. 30, 1866, having been trans- 117|_ferred from the 93 to the 81 U.S.C.T. at Camp Parapet. I was born 118|_and raised in St. Martinville, La. I have resided in the parish 119|_of Lafayettte since my muster out of the service. I do not remember 120|_Houston Bray of Co. B 93 U.S.C.T. I was not acquainted about New 121|_Iberia before the war, but I was somewhat familiar with names and 122|_places like Fausse Pointe. I heard of Bayou Courtableau and I also 123|_heard of some Decuirs in Fausse Pointe about Grand Lake. I never 124|_knew any of those Decuirs or any black people belonging to them. I 125|_was never acquainted on Bayou Courtableau. I never knew nor heard of 126|_a woman named Mary or Marie Joseph about Fausse Pointe or Grand Lake 127|_or anywhere in the Attakapas country. I never knew the claimant, 128|_Eliza B. Dorsey nee Washington. I am not related to the applicant 129|_or soldier nor interested in this pension claim. I have understood 130|_the questions asked and my answers are correctly recorded in this 131|_deposition which has been read and interpreted to me in Creole by 132|_H. L. Monnier of Lafayette, La.
