100 g KI
10 g SnC12
3 each 1 g NaN02
10 g Na2HP04 + 12H20
Small quantities of safranin and borax-methylen blue, as well as solutions for
color standards from these
75 tubes of Copenhagen standard sea-water

Remarks-- This list assumes that salinity will be measured by silver-nitrate
titration, that oxygen will be determined by the titration-method of Winkler, and
that a Sund colorimeter can be obtained and used for the estimation of silicates,
phosphates, nitrates, and pH. If other methods are used, other reagents and quanti-
ties may apply. The chemist of the Expedition shouldbe consulted before final
decision is made.

Bottom-samplers after the design of Iselin are suggested.

Quantity of silver-nitrate should be doubled if samples are to be checked.
This is advisable.
