State of New Hampshire County Strafford
I, Sophroma Stowell, of New Durham, N. H.
Having been duly sworn, depose and say that I am the
widow of William J. Stowell, late a private in Co.
G in 7th Regiment of New Hampshire Volunteers
and that I have not in any manner been engaged in
or aided or abetted the rebellion in the United States;
I also state that my residence is New Durham
and that my post-office address is New Durham
County of Strafford & State of New Hampshire
I further state that the only children I have are by my former husband
Leonard Place named and aged
and reside as follows; viz:
" Charles Henry Place, now in the army aged 19 yrs

" Sarah Place resides in Dover N. H. 22 "
