Rochester, Jan 3d 1856

Hon: Garrit Smith:

My Dear, Sir: allow me to introduce to you Mr. A.F. Case, of Penfield. Mr Case has ever been a high toned, Straightford, and reliable Liberty party man—This is saying a great deal. A man has to be honest above the average, to be in any wise associated with the Liberty Party—Mr Case—has recently greatly agitated the Church of which he is a member by his faithful—testimonies against the wicked practices of the Church touching the Sins of Slavery and intemperance. I need to tell you that such a man—strongly desires to see you—

Haste—Ever yours truly

Frederick Douglass
