Rochester Oct. 6. 1865

My dear Sir:

I duly received your letter of July 4 and have delayed answering until now, the better to arrange all my appointments for Massachusetts together. I have now to state that I can lecture for you in West Brookfield on Tuesday evening December 12th. My subject will be: the Assassination and its lessons. I shall expect as my lecturing fee fifty dollars. Please write soon.

Respectfully yours

Frederick Douglass
