My Dear Friend:—I have this moment finished reading for the second time the leading Editorial in your paper of the 8th inst. I thank you for it from the bottom of my heart. It is full of truth and wisdom. It is timely and cannot fail to do good, great good. Oh that it might be extensively reprinted! But that in the light of the character of the general press, can hardly be hoped for.
