U. G. R. R.—ACKOWLEDGMENT.

SYRACUAE, Oct. 12, 1858.

DEAR DOUGLASS:— I wish to thank, through your good paper, the kind ladies of the Anti-Slavery Society in Bradford, England, for a very timely donation of £5—and also the Dalkeith Ladies' Anti-Slavery Society, for a donation of £2. In behalf of the many travelers on the Underground Railroad, I do most sincerely thank these kind ladies in the Old Country for their remembrance of my suffering people in this land of whips, chains, and bloodhounds.—These donations were sent to us by our good and tried friend, Miss Julia Griffiths, whom our fugitive brethren and sisters have great cause to thank for many favors done for them.

Yours, as ever,

J. W. Loguen,

Agent of the Underground Railroad, in Syracuse, New York.
