DUTCHESS COUNTY SUFFERAGE ASSOCIATION.

POKEEPSIE, Sept. 30th, 1855.

FREDERICK DOUGLASS : DEAR SIR:— The meeting organized for the purpose of forming a Dutchess County Suffrage Association met, pursuant to adjournment, and the officers elected at the previous meeting were duly installed into office. The officers are as follows:—B. A. Griffins, President ; John A. W. Bowling, Vice President ; Mrs. Hurdenbergh, Secretary ; Moses Beekman, Treasurer.

The President, on taking the Chair, addressed the meeting in a short, but pointed speech.— Mr. Charles Vermong then stated that the Treasurer elected at the previous meeting could not consistently serve the purposes of the meeting, not being a resident of the county.

It was then moved and seconded, that Mr. Beekman's name be stricken out, and Abraham Boling elected in his stead. Carried.

The Executive Committee was the appointed, consisting of Mr. Issac Deys, Mrs. Vermong, and Mr. Peter Thompson.

Mr. Stephen S. Myers, agent for the County, was then called upon to address the meeting, which he did in his usual happy and appropriate style. The meeting then adjourned, agreeable to the call of the Executive Committee.

MRS. HURDENBERGH, Secy.
