LECTURES BY A. M. GREEN.—Friend Douglass: I had the pleasure of listening, on the last two Sabbaths, to two very able lectures by A. M. Green, Esq., a colored gentleman of Detroit, Michigan, who is traveling with Mrs. Tisdale, and assisting her in procuring means for the redemption of her mother from slavery. The subject of the first lecture was, "The Beauty and Utility of Christian Education;" the second, "Slavery and Intemperance." These subjects were discussed in a manner quite creditable to the head and heart of the lecturer. As he is comparatively unknown to fame, and as he purposed visiting eastward on a lecturing tour, I deem it an act of justice to the lecturer to call upon the friends of humanity, wherever he may visit, to give him a cordial reception.
