The last meeting of the Louisville
Equal Rights Asso. was held on
Friday of July 5th.
The Pres. opened the meeting by
reading from the sixth chapter of
Revelations: - followed by prayers.
The minutes of the previous meet-
ing were read and accepted.
The Committee that had been ap-
pointed, at previous meeting, to attend
to the business of inserting notices
in the daily papers, of Mrs Henry's
Property Rights Bill reported that
The Courier Journal's rate was nine
dollars for five insertions, one each month.
The German paper five dollars for the
same. The Commercial had not
yet decided upon its terms, and
Truth would charge $1.00 for each
insertion; and the committee had
arranged for three insertions.
It was resolved to postpone
further action in the business
until the meetings should be resumed
in the Fall.
There was no report from the
Treasurer, as that office was absent from
the city.
A motion was made to suspend
the meetings of the Asso. until the first
Friday in October, which was seconded and
carried.
The literary exercises followed,
and consisted of a reading by Mrs Avery
