WOMAN'S CLUB OF TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA [illustration]

April 1967 President, Mrs. F. R. Coxen Number 8 Seven

NEWS & NOTES

By Nancy

Congratulations to Mrs. Sam Wahnish who has
assumed the office of 1st V. P. of the Club.
We look forward to working with Hester, and
know that her predecessor, Mrs. B. Draughn,
will continue to serve our club with the same
enthusiasm she has always shown.

Our profound thank to Mr. Morton Hirshberg who
gave a $100 Memorial to the Club on the 100th
anniversary of his mother's birth date.

Mrs. Julius Hirshberg (Mena E. Williams) was
one of the club's charter members; and we are
proud to have her cousin, Miss Ruby Diamond,
as one of our Life Members. This donation, in
the name of Mrs. Hirshberg, has been placed in
our Memorial Scholarship Loan Program at F.S.U.
Students needing help to further their education
can, for many years to come, benefit from
the thoughtfulness of Mr. Morton Hirshberg.

My next trip out of town to represent you will
be as a delegate to the FFWC State Convention,
April 17, in Daytona Beach. There are nine
Resolutions to be presented at the convention,
they are listed in the other column, very
briefly, for your information. We would welcome
your opinion, so that the club delegates
might each cast her vote as your true representative.

There will also be introduced several amendments
to our FFWC By-Laws. If you're interested
I would be happy to discuss them with you,
otherwise we trust you will rely upon the discretion
of your delegates to cast their vote
in the best interest for a better State Federation.

Delegates will be announced at April meeting.
We wish you could all go with us, but will
give you our report in May.

Nancy Coxen, President
