For a poultisse

Take milke fine oatemeale wilde mallowes the yong est a good quantitie all hoofe a resonable quantity, grun grunsell as much red sage as much fine hisop a resonable quantity smallage as much hemlocke the yongest as much a good quantity not soe much as of the mallows but more then of any thinge else all theese hearbs must be shread as small as may bee then put theinto the milke and let them boile

A S[?] medicyne for any could ache, Bruse, or Swelling, or wrenche whatever

Take 1 [?] of sage 1 [?] of rue half a pound of wormewood & half a pound of baye leves then take iii [?] of sheepes suet all of the kidneis cleane from the skyn & mynced vere small, then take your baie leves & shred & stampe them vere small by them selves, beat all the other herbes together, that don myngle all together & beat all agayne in a morter till the suet be not seene, then take all & with your hand breake it into a new erthen pot, this don, take a pottell of oile olife & poure it into your pot mingle all with your hand, then stop the pott closse nyne or ten daies, this don, take a sweet brasse pan or pott & therin boile all over a softe fyre the space of one howre or more stirring it well till no [?Foyce] appere, then take half an [elue?] of clene new lynen cloth & betwene two wring out all the ointment some & some into a clene vessell, if it be greene & clere then it is pfecte & good otherwyse it muste boile longer, then put it into your erthen pot agayne, & therin keepe it, the better it is, if it be made in maye, or betwene the two St marie daies [pbat?]

A purging drinke to clense the lyver

Take of strawberie leves, violet leves, browne fenill & borage of eche a handfull, one ounce of licryse & one ounce of d[?]yse seede scrape & sclyce the licorise & put all into two quartes of springe water & let them boile verie softlie untill half the watger be wasted with seechinge the thing it is sed in must be kepte as close as maye bee then put into it one ounce of [seeneg?] & then take it of the fyre, & after you have taken it of the fyre (for it must not seeth after the [seenee?] is in) but it must steepe about eight howres & then strayn it into some erthen pot pan or basen & after it is strayned put into it an ounce of Sirrop of roses stir it together & in the mornynge it must be taken fastinge to the quantity of half a pynt & before you have heated it blood warme put into it as muche of [puleri sanch?] as will lye upon 3 [?] or a grose more or lesse as the pties bodie is stronge or weake (for on some it will worke with out powder) and after it is dronke they must not take any thing of three howres & then some thin broth & about an howre after they may drinke, but must dake nothinge but fleshe meat whyle the take it with they should doe for three daies together.

Take half a pynt of Red rose water a quarter of a pynt of red rose vyneger a few yellow or whyte [saunders?] or both boile them a litle betweene two dishes & everie mornynge apply them to your harte luke warme with a duble cloth [oste?] tymes wring out your cloth well for wettinge your clothes this don laye uppon your hart a vyne leaf or two.

A medicyne for the colicke & the stone

Take the cornells of cherie stones [growell?] seed Annys seed pcely seed Licorise the Roote of philipendula beat all these together into fyne powder & as good a quantytie of suger as all these come unto, beat the suger & them together. Take the quantyty of half a sponfull of this powder for one receite & drinke it either with [?] water or wyte wyne.

A [swangne?] glyter for the sor

Make your decoction either0 of cooling herbes either in milke or brothe.

when you have made yoer decoction then mixe that in the ii boxes [?], then powder the suger & put it in & when you are redie to use it put in the oiles in the bledder & the Sirrop in the glasse botle & so use it
