A pound & a halfe of the best wax sliced very
Thinn one pound of venice Turpentine halfe a pint
ofe Plantine water & halfe a pint of Damask Rose
water put your Turpentine into a Bason Beat it &
put in your waters by little & little to it tel the
Turpentine has drunk up all the waters; then take
5 pints of the best sallad oyl & 3 pints of spring
water put thes two into a pipkin that has a Holl in
the Bottom & a cork to stop it & a long string to the cork
let it simmer halfe a quarter of an hower but let it not
boyle ; put the Bees wax into another skill it by it
selfe & melt it keeping it stirring tel it is melted
then take it ofe & put in your venice Turpentine
stiring them tel it be melted then take ofe your
pipkin & hold it ouer a Bason & pul out your cork
& let the water run owt & watch when you se the
oyl come then hold it ouer the skillit & let the rest
run there then put it all together ouer the fire & let
it melt & incorporate together stiring it all the while
then take it ofe & power it into Basons & let it stand
tel the next day or tel it be cold then take it out
& all the water will be in the Bottom take the settling
ofe from the Borrom with a knife scrapeing it then put
it in the skillit & melt it againe & stir it tel its almost cold
& put then into it an ounce of natural Balsame &
two ounces of Balm of Gilleed beating & mixing them
very well it must not stand in the skillet
