An ounce of Piony rootes single or double a
quarter of an ounce of mace halfe an ounce of nutmeg
2 pennyworth of saffron halfe an ounce
of coriander seeds 2 ounces of syrope of colts
foot one ounce of Treacle beat the powders
as fine as flower temper them like an
electuary take as much as a nuttmeg
night & moring

For the Mother

The dryed powder of dryed Briony roote as wil
lye on a 6 pence 4 mornings in a glasse of whit wine

For a sore Mouth of a Child in the Month

Plantaine water a few drops of vittriol a little Hony
of Roses

Juyce of Black Berrys & suger dip your Finger
in it & rub the month all ouer within with it when
it goes to sleep

For Fitts of the Mother Dr Coladon

Take a peice of camphire as big as a mans Thumb
light it in the candle being stuck upon a Bodkin
then quench it in about halfe a pint or more of
faire spring water doe this about 12 times &
let the party drink the water & keep the camphire
for another time

Take g For Melancholly & Madnes

Take ground Ivie or Ale Hoof 3 great handfuls
& boyle it in a pottle of white wine
of the purest sort tel two parts are consumed
traine it then boyle it with 6 ounces
of the best salade oyle tel they grow to
an oyntment cut ofe the Haire of the Head
from the crown down to the brows a hand
bredth anoynt the mold of the Head on the
scalp with this oyntment being warmed
rubing & chafing it very well in then take
more fresh ground Ivie bruse them & apply
them plaster wise tyeing it very hard on
repeat this euery other day
