alsoe put under eache arme a clothe wett in the said wateres and
in this a man shall fynd verie greate ease and comfort whither
he be curable yea or noe But the most needfull and expedeint
thing of all other is, yf the sore or botch doe outwardlye appeare
to drawe by art and skill the corruption from the clensinge place
as farr as may be from the harte. And this medycyne following
hath bene approved verie good therfore. viz.

plague sore farr from ye hart.
Take an hearbe called Oculus Christi, [yervayne] stampe them
and laye a playster therof two fingeres of from the sore, and when
it hath lyen ther a good whyle, remove it agayne to another
place and lett it rest ther an other whyle. Soe use it till it come
to the place wher you would have it and then breake it.
A good medycyne for the plague.
Take a handfull of [rerve] of marigoldes scabious fecherfewe,
sorrell and Burnett of eache a handfull, a quantitie of dragons
[eycher] the r___ or [copyes], then washe them cleane and put to them
a pottle of cleane runninge water, and lett them seethe togither
to a quarte and when it is almost cold straine and drinke it
everie morninge and eveninge fastinge. This, medycyne is ye
better yf you put to it a little sugar candie and if it be
dronke before the purple appeare it will helpe God willinge.
An other medycyne for the plague.
Take nyne sponefulles of runninge water agaynst the streame
and a [c.] sponefulles of red vinegre ii sponefulls of trecle of
Jene, steepe all these togither and skim it cleane and yf the
patient be aged let him drink it blood warme, a [[?]] as hott
as he can sufer it, and lett him fast longe after it.
An other medycyne for the sicknes and to breake the sore
Take socherfewe, wormewoode, sorrell, maggworte, marygoldes [kewe] scabious,
and dragons the dropes or the rooks of earthe of them a handfull, and stampe
them and take the uiyce of them, and pynte of Ale or malmesit, and lett them
boyle togither. Then take ii sponefulles of treacle of Jene & pat to it & lett
it seethe togither till it be well sodden. Then lett the patient drinke it
and keepe him warme, And yf he take it in tyme it will drwe the corr
ruption out; And yf the sore doe appeare Take ii greate oynions and rost
them in the fyre, and a handfull of night shade and braye it small and take
the iuyce, and put them to a penyworthe of Aquavitae and put it all togither
and all [cold] put it in wher the sore is & it will breake it. You must beate
them altogither in a morter, and then it wille like a plaister
