Yesterday Whitney the Notorious
Highwayman was drawn in a
Cart to Cow Cross and being come under
the Gibbett desired the Sheriff to spare what
time he could as beleiveing to have a 2d reprive
haveing ^wrott 4 Letters to as many Noble Men
and in the Interim Whispered a Considerable
time to the sheriff upon matter as tis said
relateing to the Government & made a Confession
of his sins in Generall & about one a Clock
was turned off & made a sudden Exit hanging
above an houre to sattisfie the Multitude

Wee have an account from
Berwick that the Town of Waller 12 Miles
Distant in Cumberland is burnt down except
3 houses and much Corn & hay was Consumed

The 3 Admiralls that have been
to Visit the ffleet are returned & found
the shipps in a far readier Condition then
ever Known before & tis said the Grand
ffleet will be at sea by the ffirst of
Aprill -
