A Messenger returned yesterday who Left who Left the king: under sail from the Gun fleet convoyed by 7 Men of War on Satterday Eavening & a Hamberger is come into the River who met the King on Sunday Noon in sight of the Dutch Shoar

The Merchants had yesterday an accountt from Cadiz that the french Tholoun squadron had Intention if they had Not been seperated by a storme to haue attacqued the Spanish port of Gebralter being in the Month of the strates - which had they hapned to haue taken woulde hinder the English & Dutch Trade to the Levant Its said they had many land men onboord but a discouery being made by one of their vessells driuen into Leghorne the Spaniards haue reinforced the place./

the Lord President with some other persons of Quallity saw yesterday the performeance of shooteing 10 seuerall Times a bullett out of a Muskett New invented tho with a single Barrell with one discharge & prine as fast as a Man can prime and cock ..

Two Grand Councills have been held at White hall since the Kings going to Holland In the first of which the Admiralls assisted and were forth with ordered to goe to the ffleet with directions to Conduct them to Spithead to Ioyn the rest of the Men of War In the other Councill aproclamacion was ordered to appoint a Gennerall ffast thro' out the Kingdom to pray a blessing on the Arms of the Allies & preservacion of the Kings person to Commence on Wednesday the 10 of May & from the 2d Wednesday in the Month

Edenburgh the the 1st of Aprill yesterday the Assises gave in their Verdict on the Tryall of the Lord ffrazier that his Lordship was not Guilty of proclaiming the Late King Iames nor of Drinking his & the Prince of Walses health but as aPrivate person But the King's Advocate protested against their Verdict and they against him for accuseing them which they Look upon as a Grevance of the Nacion But his Lordship was remanded to the Castle The Same Day the Duke of Gourden who kept Denburg Castle for the late King Iames against their Maiesties fforces was brought Prissoner to the Castle from Leith under Guard of 7
