incumbents it cannot be long postponed or postpone at all except to the detriment of our citizens as a whole.

I desire to thank each and every one of the city officers with whom I have had the honor to be associated during the first year of my life as an office holder for the kindness shown me so constantly whereby my labors have been made easy and my burdens light and I have been cheered and enouraged to go with a glad heart and renewed courage to my daily duties Whatever degree of success I have had as city attorney has been due as much to the consideration shown and to the assistance given me by yourselves and all the city officers and employees as to any merit of my own and to one and all I return my heartfely thanks.

To the Secretary of the Board of Health Fort Worth, Tex.

Dear Sir:-

At the recent Quarantine Convention held in the City of Mobile, Ala., a resolution was adopted calling for a meeting of the Health and Quarantine Officials of the South Atlantic and Gulf Coast States to be held in Atlana during April, 1898.

The Committee on Arrangements have agreed upon Tuesday, April 12th, as the date of such Convention; and as Chairman of such Committee I hereby extend to your board a cordial and earnest invitation to be represented at the meeting.
