WHEREAS the Northern Texas Traction Company is engaged in the work of changing the gauge of its system of street railway lines in the City of Fort Worth, and to do so it is necessary that it shall lay a third rail along some of the street over which it operates, in order to obviate and avoid the great inconvenience to the public necessarily incident to a stoppage of its cars pending such improvement;

THEREFORE

BE IT RESOLVED

1st.- That the temporary right is hereby granted by the City Council of the City of Fort Worth to the Northern Texas Traction Company, to lay a third rail on a part of Main, Front, Weatherford, Ruck and Houston streets, to such an extent only, as may be absolutely necessary in order to enable said company to change the gauge of its line of railway without stopping its car; and such right is to continue only for such a length of time as may be reasonably sufficient to accomplish said result.

2nd.- That when said change of gauge is completed the said Traction Company shall take up such extra rail and restore the street as in its former condition, or to a condition similar to that with which and in which the remainder of the street may at the time be or have been improved.

To the Honorable Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort Worth:-

Gentlemen:-

The Northern Texas Traction Company contemplates rebuilding its line of street railway over Front Street, and finishing the same in the most approved manner; It beg to call your attention to the fact that no official grade has ever been established for Front Street, and the same is an exceeding necessity,- particularly a part of the same.

Wherefore said Company respectfully prays your honorable body to direct the appropriate city officer to establish the grade of Front Street at least from Main to Boaz street.
