To the Honorable mayor or city secretary of Fort Worth:

You will hereby take notice that on or about the 1st day of April, 1902,
I, R.S. Gamewell was in posession and owned my residence 1014, East 11st street
in the city of Fort Worth. That at such time and since said time, I have suf-
fered damages to my property on account of overflowing and also from sickness
in my family, in the sum of $500.00. that said injuties was caused by excava-
tion and grading made by the city of Fort Worth in front of my property, thereby causing
water to accumalate adjacent to and overflowing upon my yard, keep-
ing the same damp and wet. That said water runs under my house, keeping the ground itwet
and damp.
