To the Honorable City Council
Fort Worth

Gentlemen.

On or about January 20/1902, I
requested, over the telephone, the City
Tax Collector, to tell me what I owed
the City of Fort Worth for taxes for 1901.
He said, it was $111.83., and I paid it.
For fourteen years I have always paid my
city - taxes without penalty or interest
added. - It was my intention to
pay the City of Fort Worth all the
taxes I owed her in January 1902,
when I asked the tax collector for
the amount of my taxes, and when
I paid him the amount he asked
for, I was under the impression,
that this was all I owed to the city.
