Fort Worth,Texas, April 7"/1905.

To the Honorable Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort Worth:

Your petitioner Less L. Hudson, a resident and tax payer of
the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County,Texas,would show unto this
honorable body that on or about eighteen months ago he purchased and
acquired 12-1/2 acres more or less of the B.F.Crowley survey,lying
in the City of Fort Worth, and at the time he purchased same he was
informed that all of the taxes on said survey as to the part he had
acquired had been paid off and discharged by the former owner.

That relying on this statement and believing same to be true,
he purchased said land and paid a valuable consideration therefor.

Petition would further show that the land in said survey
has never been lawfully assessed nor described in the books of the
Assessor by rates and bounds or by any such specific description
as would separate the parcel owned by one person from that of
another, but same would simply be assessed and described as so may
acres in the B.F.Crowley survey without any further attempt at
separation of the various tracts belonging to different persons in
that survey.

That after your petitioner purchased said land and became
the owner of same claim was made on behalf of the City,and assert
ed for the first time,for taxes alleged to be delinquent on the land
so acquired by petitioner for the ear 1887,amounting approximately
to $27.30; for the year 1891 amounting $39.10; for the year 1892
$35.10; year 1893 amounted to $22.66;for the year 1894 $26.35;
for the year 1895,$26.25; for the year 1896 $26.25.

Petitioner would further show that under the decision of
the Supreme Court of this State in the case of the State of Texas
vs E.D.Frmer, 94 Tex.page 232,your petitioner bought said land
free from any claims whatsoever for taxes on the part of the City,
and could,if petitioner was so disposed,bring a suit to remove
