To His Honor the Mayor and Honorable the City Council, Ft. Worth, Texas.
Gentlemen:-
I respectfully present myself as a person suitable and capable to flush the city sewers, having experienced for the past eighteen years as employs of the city. I know and am thoroughly acquainted with the sewerage system, with mains and water system in general.
My record is favorable, as will be shown by Mr. Calhoun and other superiors whom I worked under. I have always been faithful during my long services with the city, causing no trouble, but often saving considerable money for the city.
I trust you will consider my former services and look on my application with favor.
I am,
Your obedient servant,
Bill Avery
