Board of Commissioners,

I respectfully ask you to pass the following resolution, to-wit Resolved that the petitions filed and presented by Messers. Booth, Ingram and others being in effect a request that this body give some instructions to, or in some manner exercise some restraining or coercive influence on one of the commissioners and other officers with reference to the discharge of their duties when the fact is the laws of the State and City define and prescribe their duties, we therefore regard said petition as out of place and decline to take any action on said petition.

To the Honorable Commissioners of Fort Worth, Texas.

Gentlemen:-

Your petitioners, property owners and business men on Main and Rusk and Calhoun Streets, between 9th. and Front, represent unto your Honorable Body that in their opinion the time has not arrived when the tenants now occupying the district between Rusk and Jones, 9th. and Front should be driven out. We believe that such action on the part of your Honorable Body will work great misfortune to said tenants to the property owners and other business interests of said district. We believe that the interests of our Citizens who have their money nvested in real estate and other branches of legitimate business in said district should be respected.

We therefore respectfully ask your Honorable Body to stop the crusade of extermination which now seem the programme and permit said tenants to remain where they are under the control and supervision of our Police Department. We further believe that to drive them from said district where they have been corralled will result in scattering them into other business and residence districts where Police supervision will be difficult, if not impossible.
