GENERAL CLAUSES.

The contractor shall, at his own expense, provide and deliver,
all materials, furnish all plants, tools, equipment, labor, and all
necessary appliances to prosecute and complete the work contemplated
in the foregoing specifications.

Refuse and surplus materials shall be removed and disposed
of by the contractor within three days after the completion of the
work and the streets and grounds left in a neat and presentable con-
dition.

The materials used shall be of the best class of their re-
spective kinds.

Whenever the contractor is not present on any part of the
work where it may be necessary to give directions, orders will be given
by the Engineer to, and shall be received and obeyed by the foreman or
superintendent having charge of the particular work concerning which
the orders have been given.

If any person employed by the contractor on the work shall
appear to be incompetent or disorderly he shall be discharged immed-
iately upon request of the Engineer, and shall not be again employed
on the work.

The contractor shall be held liable for all damages or tress-
pass to adjoining property, done by himself or his employees.

All the work contemplated by these specifications shall be
done to the satisfaction of the City Engineer of the city of Fort
Worth, Texas, and shall continually, during the construction, be sub-
ject to the inspection and approval, or rejection of said City Engineer,
or his authorized inspectors and assistants.

The contractor shall not assign or transfer this contract,
nor sublet any part of the work, without the written consent of the
City Engineer.

Whenever any imperfect or unfaithful work is discovered by
the Engineer or his assistants it shall be corrected and repaired im-
mediately upon the requirements of the Engineer, notwithstanding the
fact that it may previously been overlooked, it being intended that
no oversight shall relieve the contractor from any of his obligations
to do good work and furnish good materials throughout. And any ommission
todisprove of any work or materials, used therein, by the Engineer
