To The Hon Mayor and City Commissioners,
City of Ft Worth, Texas,

Gentlemen,

Whereas at a meeting of property holders of South
main St held at the gaither Drug Store Sept 26,last it was unamously
decided to have the above mentioned thoroughfare paved with bitulithic
and a petition signed by those present to have your honorable body
let the contract for this work to Warren Brothers at once; and being
one of the signers of the said petition; and being one having signed
this petition on the strength of statements made by one Mr Pittman and others as to
the quality of the material; and with that the understanding we looked at the two blocks
of Akard St in Dallas which was paved with bitulithic to substantiate
their statements, I wish to say that I have examined the
Dallas work and am now absolutely opposed to bitulithic paving for
any business street, and notify your honorable body not to consider
my name on said petition.
