To the Honorable Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the
City of Fort Worth, Texas.

Gentlemen:-

I herewith make application to your Honorable Body for
appointment as turnkey at the new city prison, now being finished in
the city of Fort Worth.

I desire to state that I have been a resident of the city
of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas for a period of twenty-five years,
and am capable of filling the position above referred in a manner
looking to the best interests of the city of Fort Worth.

Any references that you may desire as to my character etc.
will be readily furnished.
