William Estes Esqr.
City Secy.

Dear Sir:-

You are holding $96.15 due us for drayage, claiming as a
reason therefor that we owe the city $53.03 for taxes for the year
which was assessed against our personal property.

Now if we owe the city this tax we are perfectly willing to pay
it but the property being kept outside of the city, and the homes of the
proprietors being outside of the city most certainly exempt this property
from a city tax. However we are willing to pay the tax if we owe it,but
we do feel that we should be asked to pay a tax that we do not owe and
we feel that you are doing us an injustice by holding our money that
is past due, awaiting a decision by the city attourney, when the delay is
no fault of ours.We feel that you should give us a decision at oncde or
surrender our warrants.

Yours truly,
J.M.Stewart Transfer & Storage Co.
