TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF FT. WORTH.
Gentlemen:
We the undersigned residents and tax payers of the city
of Ft.Worth, would respectfully direct your attention to the fact
that the crossing of Lipscomb street or avenue across the Gulf,
Colorado & Santa Fee Railways right of way in South Hemphill Heights
Addition to Ft. Worth, between Capps street and Canty street and
within the limits of said city is not actually direct across said
right of way as shown by the official plat but that in fact, said
Lipscomb street or avenue extends southwest within block No.7 of said
South Hemphill Heights Addition along said Railways right of way
to an alley in the middle of said block, then crosses the right of
way and then runs south-east across the south-east corner of block
No. 7 back to said Lipscomb street as it should run out at or near the
intersection of Lipscomb street and Canty Street.
Your petitioner would further state that the owners of
lots 13 to 24 in said block No. 7 are deprived of the use of a
great part of their property by reason of said Lipscomb street or
avenue not running straight across said right of way; and that it is
a great inconvenience to persons going along said Lipscomb street to
be compelled to pursue the devious path of said street; your peti-
tioners would further state that the official play shows that said
Lipscomb street should proceed according to the way petitioners ask
it and not as it does actually run at present.
Wherefore your petitioners would respectfully ask that your
Honorable body instruct said Gulf, Colorado & Sante Fe Railway to
open and prepare a crossing at the intersection of said Lipscomb
street and said Railway's right of way; and that the crossing over
said right of way as it now exists be closed and that your Honor-
able body take such action as may be necessary to close that part
