Fort Worth, March 3, 08.

Sam J. Davidson,
City Commissioner,
Ft Worth, Texas.

Dear Sir:-

We understand a movement is on foot on try and eliminate
the obnoxious and illegitimate condition that the push cart peddlers
have forced on legitimate tax paying occupants of buildings fronting
on the main streets of Ft Worth. The pavement of the streets of the this
City is done for the purpose of furnishing transportation for vehicles
so property would pay better rental and to-day it is being furnished
free to illegitimate competitors and indirect competition with prac-
tically American citizens who occupy these buildings, in favor of
aliens who often are not naturalized American citizens.

ft Worth occupies position we believe of being
the only City in Texas allowing such practice and while the Writer
draws considerable business from this class of trade, still it is
one of the most unjust practice the Writer ever saw to legitimate
dealers paying rent.

Any consideration shown the Dealers we know would be appre-
cited by the entire jobbing concerns of Ft Worth, as they do not
desire such trade, except when absolutely forced upon them to handle.

Allow us to thank you for any consideration shown this letter
We remain,

Yours truly,

C.H. Cox & Co.,
