I hereby apply to you for a policeman's commission,
or in other wordsto be appointed as a non-paid policeman, for
myself and Mr. B. P. O'Neal, both of THE TEXAS DECTECTICE
SERVICE of this city. For the reason that we have to frequent
the different rail-road yards at all times of the night, as
well as the different negro dives, and other places of like
character. We feel that such protection is essential to our
