following morning the gas man demanded again payment of both bills. He was
offered payment of the gas bill at the house, with the request that he
leave it on, and I had in the meantime sent check through the mail for
it. He refused, whereupon he was ordered from the premises. He went
under the house, however, unknown to any one, and cut the pipe. (And
by the way I supppose he left it leaking, as there is a strong smell of
gas there).

I ask you if this treatment is fair? I ask you if such treatment
is the poicy of your mangement? I ask you if you will correct this
matter? Dont understand that I am appealing to your for your gas and
lights again. Your lights I dont want at the rates they have been
charged for as long as I can get them elsewhere. The gas is a conven-
ience and I would like to have it, paying for what is used.

I will be fair with you and say that I am furnishing a copy of
this letter, with some others, to our Board of City Commissioners, to
aid them in their efforts to arrive at the correct state of affairs
and regulate these matters in justive to all concerned. I enclose
you a copy of the letter to them.

You will note that I have not paid the light bill in question
and I respectfully ask your reply to this letter.
