TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF FT. WORTH.
Gentlemen:
We the undersigned residents and tax payers of the city of Ft.Worth, would respectfully direct your attention to the fact that the crossing of Lipscomb street or avenue across the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fee Railways right of way in South Hemphill Heights Addition to Ft. Worth, between Capps street and Canty street and within the limits of said city is not actually direct across said right of way as shown by the official plat but that in fact, said Lipscomb street or avenue extends southwest within block No.7 of said South Hemphill Heights Addition along said Railways right of way to an alley in the middle of said block, then crosses the right of way and then runs south-east across the south-east corner of block No. 7 back to said Lipscomb street as it should run out at or near the intersection of Lipscomb street and Canty Street.
Your petitioner would further state that the owners of lots 13 to 24 in said block No. 7 are deprived of the use of a great part of their property by reason of said Lipscomb street or avenue not running straight across said right of way; and that it is a great inconvenience to persons going along said Lipscomb street to be compelled to pursue the devious path of said street; your petitioners would further state that the official play shows that said Lipscomb street should proceed according to the way petitioners ask it and not as it does actually run at present.
Wherefore your petitioners would respectfully ask that your Honorable body instruct said Gulf, Colorado & Sante Fe Railway to open and prepare a crossing at the intersection of said Lipscomb street and said Railway's right of way; and that the crossing over said right of way as it now exists be closed and that your Honorable body take such action as may be necessary to close that part

of said Lipscomb street which is in said block No. 7 and make said Lipscomb street cross said right of way as is prayed for and as is shown in the official plat.
The attached plat of South Hemphill Heights Addition shows said crossing as prayed for while the dotted lines in said plat shows the crossing as it practically now exists.
Your petitioners hereby agree that the city of Ft. Worth is not to incur any expense in making the change prayed for.
Witness our hands this ___ day of November A.D.1907.

Sam J. Davidson, City Commissioner, Ft Worth, Texas.
Dear Sir:-
We understand a movement is on foot on try and eliminate the obnoxious and illegitimate condition that the push cart peddlers have forced on legitimate tax paying occupants of buildings fronting on the main streets of Ft Worth. The pavement of the streets of the this City is done for the purpose of furnishing transportation for vehicles so property would pay better rental and to-day it is being furnished free to illegitimate competitors and indirect competition with practically American citizens who occupy these buildings, in favor of aliens who often are not naturalized American citizens.
ft Worth occupies position we believe of being the only City in Texas allowing such practice and while the Writer draws considerable business from this class of trade, still it is one of the most unjust practice the Writer ever saw to legitimate dealers paying rent.
Any consideration shown the Dealers we know would be apprecited by the entire jobbing concerns of Ft Worth, as they do not desire such trade, except when absolutely forced upon them to handle.
Allow us to thank you for any consideration shown this letter We remain,
Yours truly,
C.H. Cox & Co.,
